I'm free (well... kinda)

Given that clinic is now over (yes, over, done, complete, ciao til' January) and exams begin in just two weeks I found this picture to sum up my feelings pretty accurately right about now.
Time to chug coffee  until I can formulate thoughts, and wine until they stop (just kiddin' people).

That's all for today, my brain needs a time out.

That time I ate four times my body weight

Recap of Thanksgiving:

Thursday was great. I wish I could think of a better word to describe the day but I'm feeling a little brain dead right about now (I woke up at 6am in Tallahassee, drove four hours to tampa, had three therapy sessions and a 3 hour class, so forgive me if this post is lacking my usual sass). Anywho, it was so nice to spend time with all of my family and to have my sister in law's family celebrate with us too! There was a total of 18 of us- kudos to my mom for only telling me she was stressed three times on Thursday (I was expecting a record high, go Lu go!)

My brother's first fried turkey (who said Thanksgiving was suppose to be healthy, right?)

Mr. Mot's first turkey day- festive little guy

Cheers!

Desert for days (diet starts NOW)
My sister made a mind blowing, out of this world, bring on the calories, peanut butter pie- I'll post some pictures and the recipe later this week, deal? Deal.

Oh whatever, here's a sneak peak:

Drooling.

Oh yeah, and getting to catch up with these guys was pretty great too.

Okay and a quick run down about this weekend, I drove up to Tallahassee on Friday to see this sweet smile:

We did more eating, snuggling, drinking and football watching than this gal could handle (well, you can never have enough snuggling). Despite the depressing Florida State loss (let's not talk about that anymore, k?) this weekend was exactly what I needed to get my through these last two weeks of clinic and class before winter break.

Pre-tailgating drink anyone?

The most beautiful day for football- 65 and not a cloud in the sky. Gotta love winters in Florida.

Clearly enjoying game day.

Lets just say this was a pre kickoff picture.

Always happy to see this face.

Sunday looked a lot like this and I wouldn't change it for the world. Wish I was still in that very moment right now.

until next time

Turkey in my tum

Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm thankful every day for that handsome fella up there who sticks by my side even when I'm being irrational (or drank too much whiskey) and for putting up with the obnoxious amount of pictures I take.
I'm thankful everyday for my family who never stops making me laugh and who supports me unconditionally.
I'm thankful that my parents raised me with the morals and beliefs I have today.
I'm thankful for this fur child who drools all over the house.
I'm thankful for the friends that have turned into family, and will always be around.
I'm thankful for down comforters- I owe my good sleeps to you.
I'm thankful for the first cup of freshly brewed coffee (that's a given)
I'm thankful for the beautiful days I get to spend outside.
I'm thankful for cabernet, sushi and teen mom (I didn't say all of these would be sentimental)
I'm thankful for everyday I wake up and get to start over.

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving (and post meal nap- cheaaa)

Jewels that make me drool (is that weird?)

Happy day before Thanksgiving! Who's ready to stuff their face with turkey and stuffing? ( uhh, this girl is, but that's a given)

I wanted to do a Chrismas wish (I'll keep wishing because this list is about to get cray-zay) list but I realized that would be the longest post ever, so lucky for you I'm going to break them up.
So today, the jewels that make me drool.

How great are these rings? They're called Lulu Frost code rings. I've been lusting over them for the past year and given the fact that they are 440$ PER ring, I'll continue lusting over them, oh for like, ever. But for those of you that just have to have them (don't tell me, I'll probably cry) here's the link

Coincidence that these just so happen to be my initials? I'd like to think of it as fate, but whatever. I love thin gold necklaces. They're dainty, tasteful and adorable. This necklace is from bauble bar, the designer is Maya Brenner- way to go Maya, I'm diggin your taste.

Since my first set of stackable rings are worth more than (enter obnoxious comparison here), this is my alternative- stackable initial rings from gorjana

How great is this collar necklace? They have some awesome be-dazzled little babies out there but I'm currently loving this plain black on (you can wear it with more, duh) This guy is from bauble bar too.

Everyone needs a gold spike bracelet to pile on your wrist. Found this one from lulus.

I love this necklace, I'm talkin' L-O-V-E love, not that l-u-v nonsense. The real love. As soon as I saw this on lulus site I immediately pictured wearing it with a collared shirt- chambray anyone?

This necklace is fun right? Right. And only 12$ from forever 21. More my speed.

Last but not least, these Kate Spade earrings would be fantastic. Thanks Santa.

What have you had your eyes on?

OH I forgot, Tucker told me this collar is on his Christmas list. Pretty good taste for a pup.

Another post about food

Let's talk about one of my favorite things, food, again. Alright, so, food- this weekend was Hunter and I's first weekend apart in months (insert sad face here). I figured we'd get used to doing this long distance nonsense but the truth is we haven't, and it still majorly stinks.

This is what our text messages have turned into (Seriously, how cute is he? Sorry Hunt, I'm sure you're hating this right about now).

Well last weekend when we were together we decided we wanted to try this recipe (click there). It was a double crunch honey garlic chicken and it was de-lish. However, for those of you wanting to try this, my recommendation is to make it WITHOUT the nutmeg (it was just a weird taste, trust me, I repeat, ommit the nutmeg).

So I think we can agree raw chicken is not the appetizing view...

This guy, such a helper.

YUM, The finished product with the honey garlic soy sauce on top.

I totally recommend this recipe it was good, easy and fun to make together. But trust me on the nutmeg.

Alright well, my evening is back to looking a little something like this...

Happy teen mom Monday!

I forgot to put this picture in my last post- the view from my sister and her boyfriends condo: b-e-a-u-tiful, right?

Alright, it's blowing my mind I'm even still awake right now so it's time for a cup of tea.

until next time

I would rather be...

This weekend flew by, I'm talkin' I blinked one time and BAM it was over. I got to meet my brother and his wife's sweet little pup (how cute is he??) and Saturday I spent the night at my sister's place. There was a lot of sushi eating, wine drinking, and trash tv watching goin' on- wild Saturday, people!

Which leads me to my next thought, today I would rather be doing anything than what I'm doing.

Today I would rather be laying in bed (obviously still in my jams) watching saved by the bell and boy meets world, all day long.

Today I would rather be in my big comfy sweater, sipping on a big ol' cup of coffee, sitting on the back porch.

Today I would rather be helping my mom get ready for Thanksgiving- taste tester anyone??

Today I would rather be on the beach, carefree, and enjoying every moment of being 22.

Today I would rather be celebrating my best friend's birthday at dinner instead of sitting in class until 8pm ( sorry B, I wish I could be there!

Shoot, we all know today I would rather be walking around that mall eyeing all of things I can't afford (or Christmas shopping, ok?)

Moral of the story is today I would rather be doing anything than what it is I need to do, but come Wednesday this girl is on va-cay.

Bring on the cabernet.

Mr. Mots and Tots

Motley,
Welcome to the family little guy!

Hello handsome!

How absolutely adorable is this furry little nugget? I can't wait for Tucker to meet him. I guess we're a family of hound dogs now. Hey, I'm not complaining. After all, their ears make me melt (did I really just say that? Judge away.)

Layers

A cold front has come back around, and by cold front I'm talking between 50-70 degrees ( I know, I know that's not really cold but I'll take what I can get, alright?) Tomorrow is also Friday which means I have three straight days being scrub free, and am able to actually put an outfit together. Heck ya. Oh the things that make me happy.

Here are a few outfits I've been eyeing, can you tell I'm totally digging layers? Maybe if you're lucky I'll get super corny and make my sister take a few outfit pictures this weekend in between my study bingeing. Until then, enjoy these beauts!

OH did I mention my brother and sister-in-law have a new addition to their family?!? A furry little guy, and I can't wait to meet him!

Cheers to Friday!
xx Marisa
