Rome, Part 2

Rome, we meet again...
Okay, so maybe this may sound a little weird to some of you but I'm going to say it anyways- finishing up these posts about our trip is making me a little emotional. No, not like crying emotional. More like, "that was the most amazing week of my life how was it already two months ago...why is it over?!" If you've been to Europe I know you understand what I'm saying, or at least trying to say. (Good thing I took over 500 pictures while we were there...)

On our last few days in Rome we drank an abundance of espresso (what jet lag??), ate gelato with just about every meal and finished up our sight seeing. We did the Pantheon, the Colosseum and the Roman Forum, and let me just say, they are even more incredible in person. I'm talking mind blowing architecture, with so much history I couldn't believe we were actually there. Hands down the Colosseum was both Hunter and I's favorite, we spent a few hours at each and by the end of the day we were dead tired.

After dinner we got news that the new Pope was elected!! Hunter and I got on the metro and headed straight the St. Peter's Square. Sure enough- white smoke, parades and mobs of people everywhere! Such an incredible part of history and to be honest, I can't believe we were there to see it all happen.

Side note: I was body slammed by two Nuns on the metro. Hunt thought I was kidding until we got back to our hotel and I showed him the bruises... oh the memories.

Rome, part 1

Rome.
Truthfully I'm not sure where to begin with this amazing city. Okay fine, let's start with the fact that it was the most incredible place I've ever been and if we would have gotten our passports stolen and had to stay there forever I would  have cried rivers of happiness- think I'm exaggerating? Well, I'm not. Not even a little bit.

The people were so friendly, the food was to die for and any place where wine is cheaper than water is alright in my book- ya feel me? There were times Hunter and I were walking around hand-in-hand and I had to stop and take in everything around us. Our entire trip felt like a dream, but Rome was too good to be true. Besides getting hailed on. Twice.

Spanish steps

The view from the top: fan-freaking-tastic

Our rental car. Just kidding, we wandered around lost every where on foot.

The Trevi Fountain... and no we were dumb dumbs and didn't toss any coins in, ok?

Bruschetta platter: I'll have one of each today...for breakfast.

There's the hail, in all it's glory.

This pizza speaks for itself, and it's saying eat me... all of me

I could honestly talk about Italy all day and I have, numerous times since we've been back but for your sake I'll keep it short. No better place to be lost, wandering around with no idea where your going, in the pouring rain, 30 degree weather, spontaneous hail, sharing a single person umbrella with your 6'2 boyfriend. Still makes me laugh thinking about it. I wouldn't have changed a single thing. Actually, I take that back- I would have bought my own umbrella. It's okay, I still love you Hunt.

Until tomorrow-

Paris, Part 2

Confession- I've been bad at blogging. I'm talking really, really bad. This little thing called life just seemed to creep its way in and apparently I had to deal with it. Well, moral of the story is I finished my second semester of grad school after studying about 8 hours a day for 9 days straight and enjoyed every second of the WHOLE week of summer off I had.

Hunter graduates in a month and then is moving to Tampa and I seriously could not be any more excited- 6 more l-o-n-g weeks, people! Praying they fly by. Anyways, this summer my work load should be a lot less than it has been and I won't lie to ya, I missed my little internet outlet sooooo- I'm back. And yup, I'm just going to pick up right where I left off.

drum roll, please..... Paris, Part 2.

Love lock bridge
Throwing our keys in!

The one picture I got before I got screamed at and chased away... whoooops

Oh, I forgot to mention that Hunter and I put our lock on the knock off bridge. Yup, one bridge too early. I'm not sure if either of us have even laughed harder than when we saw the real one. baha

Notre Dame was absolutely beautiful. Gypsies and all.
View from our hotel room. I didn't hate it.

Our last night in Paris.
Get in my belly.

Can't wait to share our Rome pictures, I could have spent the rest of my life in Italy... I'll be back, mark my words.

Until next time,

Paris, part 1.

These past two weeks seem like a dream, how was it just a week ago we were in Europe?!? I could literally rant and rave all day long about our trip, it was one of the most amazing experiences I've ever had and let me tell ya, I'm already looking forward to going back.

We booked our trip through a website called- European Destinations. A-mazing. It was simple, painless and affordable. The trip as a whole was life changing (I'm sure some of that had to do with who I was with, but hey who knows). It rained everyday we were there except for our first day in Paris, OH, and snowed the day we left, but that's a given.

I'll give more details about Paris in my next post, but I was dying to share a few photos (I took over 500 while we were there... I may have a problem).

I hope you enjoy a few of these bad boys:

The arc de triomphe
 Hunter's favorite: The croque madame

Beautiful roses on the street

Yes, I have been going through espresso withdrawls
I look like an itty bitty ant

Nothing makes me happier..

My name's Marisa, and I'm addicted to quiche.

ANNOUNCEMENT

Blogging world,

I'm sorry I've been non-existent for  a little bit of time now, I have a lot going on and honestly, sometimes it just gets hard to juggle it all. I'll get into more of that in another post because right now I have a BIG announcement.....

Hunter and I are going to Europe.

NEXT WEEK.

HOLY MOLY! Talk about impulsive, right? We've been talking about going for almost 2 years now, and 2 weeks ago we finally did it. We booked our flights, our hotels the whole sha-bang. We are definitely embracing being students and having a spring break. And let me be the first to say, I need a mental and physical vacation more than ever, especially with my sweet dude.

So, Paris and Rome, here we come!!!

We leave Thursday, any advice or suggestions would be extremely appreciated.
I'll post more on this later this weekend, I can't even contain my excitement.

Oh, and I wanted to say a BIG thank you to the most amazing best friend I have EVER had, that has been by my side since we were 15 years old, who continues to help me grow and see just why things happen. B, thanks for listening to me whine, and moan about school, and the struggle of finding what makes me happy. I appreciate you more than you could ever know.

I wanted to share a verse from my daily devotional app, it really touched me and I hope it touches you.

John 14:27

Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, give I to you. Don't let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful.

I hope you all have an amazing weekend, relax and enjoy EVERY second.
